New measures have been taken in all towns and cities around Romania since the number of infected people has severely risen. Below you can find an English summary of these restrictions:

 

 

Coffee shops and restaurants

 

Rate of infection: 

  • >3/1000, but < or = with 6/1000;
  • for a rate of infection higher than 6/1000, the activity is suspended.

How will things go?

  • Maximum capacity: 50%;
  • Schedule: 5 AM - 2 AM (so they will be open until 2 AM maximum).

How can you enter?

  • Vaccine, complete scheme taken at least 10 days before;
  • RT-PCR test, taken 72h before;
  • Rapid antigen test, taken 48h before;
  • Proof that the person is on between the 15th and the 180th day after the confirmation of the infection with COVID-19.

 

Clubs, bars, discos

 

Rate of infection:

  • >2/1000;
  • for a rate of infection higher than 6/1000, the activity is suspended.

How will things go?

  • Maximum capacity: 70% (rate of infection between 2 and 3/1000) or 30% (rate of infection between 3 and 6/1000);
  • Schedule: 5 AM - 2 AM (so they will be open until 2 AM maximum).

How can you enter?

  • Only with the vaccine, complete scheme taken at least 10 days before (for a rate of infection over 3/1000).

 

Private events in closed spaces

 

Rate of infection: 

  • >2/1000;
  • for a rate of infection higher than 6/1000, the activity is suspended.

How will things go?

  • Maximum capacity: 200 participants.

How can you enter?

  • Vaccine, complete scheme taken at least 10 days before;
  • RT-PCR test, taken 72h before;
  • Rapid antigen test, taken 48h before;
  • Proof that the person is on between the 15th and the 180th day after the confirmation of the infection with COVID-19.

 

Gyms in closed spaces

 

Rate of infection: 

  • >4/1000;
  • for a rate of infection higher than 6/1000, the activity is suspended.

How will things go?

  • Maximum capacity: 50%.

Cinemas, shows, concerts in closed spaces

 

Rate of infection: 

  • >3/1000;
  • for a rate of infection higher than 6/1000, the activity is suspended.

  • Maximum capacity: 50%.

Concerts and festivals in open spaces

 

Rate of infection: 

  • >2/1000;
  • >3/1000;
  • for a rate of infection higher than 6/1000, the activity is suspended.

How will things go?

  • Maximum capacity: 75,000 people (rate of infection over 2/1000), 2,500 people (rate of infection between 2 and 3/1000), 1,000 people (rate of infection between 3 and 6/1000).

How can you enter?

  • Vaccine, complete scheme taken at least 10 days before;
  • RT-PCR test, taken 72h before;
  • Rapid antigen test, taken 48h before;
  • Proof that the person is on between the 15th and the 180th day after the confirmation of the infection with COVID-19.

 

Sports competitions in open/closed spaces

 

Rate of infection: 

  • >2/1000;
  • >3/1000;
  • for a rate of infection higher than 6/1000, the activity is suspended.

How will things go?

  • Maximum capacity: 75% (rate of infection over 2/1000), 50% (rate of infection between 2 and 3/1000), 30% (rate of infection between 3 and 6/1000).

How can you enter?

  • Vaccine, complete scheme taken at least 10 days before;
  • RT-PCR test, taken 72h before;
  • Rapid antigen test, taken 48h before;
  • Proof that the person is on between the 15th and the 180th day after the confirmation of the infection with COVID-19.

 

Travelling restrictions

 

For a rate of infection between 4 and 7,5/1000, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: curfew between 8 PM and 5 AM, all economic operators are closed after 6 PM; 

For a rate of infection over 7,5/1000, on all days of the week: curfew between 6 PM and 5 AM for everyone.

To give you an idea, the infection rate for Bucharest (as reported on the 23rd of September 2021) is equal to 3,65.
